Sustainable Tourism

The recognition of Turmares as a company involved in environmental conservation and quality business dynamics is based on the use of protocols that maximize its management efficiency and are governed by the criteria of Good Practices of Sustainable Ecotourism. The consideration that the object of its activity is a living resource of the natural environment, scarce, fragile and of necessary preservation has led to the attainment of quality and environmental standards, a process that began in 2005 and continues to evolve, evolving every day until the present day.

Turmares Tarifa is largely responsible for the growth, consolidation and use of good practices for Whale Watching in the Strait of Gibraltar.

• We are a founding member and presides over the ASACETA (Association of Whale Watchers of the Strait of Gibraltar, Tarifa and Andalusia) .
• We are a founding partner and ambassador of the WCA (World Cetacean Alliance) association, working in the "Responsible Whale Watching" working group.
• We are a founding member of the Andalusian Wilderness Association (Andalusian Wilderness).
• We have participated in the elaboration of the "Strategic Plan for the Development of Cetacean Sighting" worldwide, considered as a consulting company by the IWC (International Whaling Commission).
• In 2013, the SEC (Sociedad Española de Cetáceos) congress in Tarifa, with 113 participants, has collaborated in the organisation.
• He has collaborated in the organization of the annual conference of the Natural Park El Estrecho from 2007 to 2013, with an average of 160 participants per edition.

Turmares Tarifa is an approved and registered Company:

• Andalusia Natural Park Brand since 2007.
• Tourism Company Registration in the Department of Tourism of Junta de Andalucía since 2006.
